Charming tales of teen friendship and romance to take the chill off any winter evening

And that's exactly what today's case: 'Whiteout' brings to Book Review, she wrote. I was very excited to read 'Whiteout', having read 'Blackout', written by the same collection of incredibly talented authors. In summary, a huge snowstorm engulfs Atlanta. Making things more icy, science-whizz Stevie is trying to get her girlfriend Sola to forgive her, after she messes up a very important dinner with Sola's family, where the two had planned to reveal their romantic relationship to the family. In true teenager dramatic fashion, Sola gives Stevie until midnight to make it up to her.

Dhonielle Clayton and fellow writing elves Tiffany D.Jackson, Nic Stone, Angie Thomas, Ashley Woodfolk and Nicola Yoon never fail to deliver a cleverly integrated story that captures the essence of teenage love. That is, the highs and lows, crushes, struggles, friends to lovers and everything in between. Love is an all-encompassing and overwhelming thing during a teenager's life, and the authors perfectly capture how it's hard for them to see any of the world outside of it.

The story highlights friends, family, and second chances, all perfectly bundled in a collection of wintery stories. Because, much like snow after icy roads, cars breaking down and cancelled flights, we never fail to fall in love with the first sight of snow, when the new year comes.
