This author needs no introduction, and after reading many more books by her, I was eager to dive into this one. Today's case: Verity by Colleen Hoover. In a nutshell, Lowen is a struggling writer, who finds the opportunity of a lifetime when she is asked to write the remaining book in a series written by a successful author called Verity, after experiencing an accident which leaves her unable to finish writing her beloved book series. Due to her current financial difficulties, Lowen agrees. Verity's husband, Jeremy, insists Lowen stays at their house to do as much research as possible into the book series. However, after coming across a series of autobiographical manuscripts written by Verity prior to her accident which reveals thrilling details into her life, Lowen becomes increasingly suspicious and disturbed by Verity. Coupled with an increasing attraction to Jeremy, Lowen realises this task is not as straightforward as she thinks.
I demolished this book in a few days. Colleen Hoover makes it very easy to get lost in a book, and this story was no different. It was thrilling, enticing, juicy, spicy (so young readers this is probably not the book for you!). The twist was incredible and far from predictable. Highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a bit of escapism from their reality. I'm still thinking about this book.
